Birch Creek Motorsports Park, located just 15 miles from the Virginia-North Carolina border in Pittsylvania County, was opened in 1993. The signature feature is an over-under bridge that is known as Mt. Deacon in honor of the original owner "Deacon" Jones. The Birch Creek complex consist of a nationaly recognized Motocross track which can vary in length from 1.1 to 1.5 miles. The complex also contains a multi-purpose Oval Dirt Track complete with lights. Birch Creek is a chartered AMA Promoter Organization and is a member of both AMA District 13, as well as District 29.
The motocross track has been host to numerous nationally recognized AMA & ATVA sanctioned events including the ATV Motocross National Championship Series, Loretta Lynn Regional and Area Qualifiers, US Eastern Spring Series , Grand Championship Series, the United States Mega Series, as well as the Carolina Ultra Series and the original Eastern Four Stroke National series.
The track is technically challenging and takes advantage of the hilly terrain, as well as strategically placed single, double and triple jumps. This includes several table top jumps, whoops, and sand sections. The track surface is good old Virginia red clay on the hills with sand sections in the flats. We pride ourselves in having a rider friendly track with a good race flow for mini-cycles, motorcycles and ATV's alike, from beginner to expert. We prepare a full twenty foot wide track with many sections measuring thirty feet or greater.
The Oval Track is red clay and for many years has hosted the ATVA Extreme Dirt Track National Series and the Southern ATVA DIrt Track Series for ATV's only. It is also the location of the non-sanctioned Saturday Night Super-Moto Motocross Series.
We have permanent rest room facilities supplemented with Porta-Johns, bike wash water, grandstands strategically placed around the complex, a professional PA system and an FM transmitter for complete coverage of race action and other announcements.
